Strengths and Weaknesses of Lynda as a learning tool.

Strengths and Weaknesses of Lynda as a learning tool.

Strengths:
  •         It has a good design which is easy to follow and has a great structural design for the course, as in; it is really easy to access, watch, understand, and use. It also targets the audience really well and makes them feel catered to with the easy to follow design.
  •           It goes into decent/good depth and shows the many uses that excel (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel/) can be used for, and explains what everything and doesn’t leave the viewer with just a name of something you can do, as in, it tells you what each feature does in small depth, but then elaborates later on in the course.
  •            As with all online courses, it is easily accessible and can be accessed anywhere, and you can google (www.google.com.au) what is wrong and this can further help with your learning experience. I personally favour online learning over book/presentation learning, as you can easily review it and expand your learning.

Weaknesses:
  •           There is a lack of person-to-person interaction making personalized attention hard to get from the teacher (which in most online courses is an actor who is reading out the course in the video). An online course also doesn’t socially meet the requirements such as a real classroom.
  •          Online resources require a person to have adequate internet access to be able to stream the course to their computer. This could be a disadvantage to those without good connection in the area.
